Visit Stack Exchange I'm trying to install glibc-2.12-1.25.el6.i686 on 64 bit RHEL.
I understand it has a dependency on the NSSRAWHASH package (I'm using the nss-softokn-freebl-3.12.9-3.el6.i686package), so I run the following command to install both packages at the same time and resolve the circular dependency between the two.
But when I ran the program, it says it needs glibc 2.14 to be able to run. So I tried to update glibc by: mkdir ~/glibc_install; cd ~/glibc_install wget tar zxvf glibc-2.14gz cd glibc-2.14 mkdir build cd build ../configure --prefix=/opt/glibc-2.14 make -j4 sudo make install export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/opt/glibc-2.14/lib$" Since 6 is just a symbolic link.
